A waffle maker has been on my list of things to buy for simply ages! So we jumped at the chance of teaming up with VonShef to celebrate Waffle Day!

(YES THAT’S A THING…. A DAY DEVOTED TO ALL THINGS WAFFLE!)

Firstly, let me say I have literally no idea why I didn’t buy a waffle maker sooner! This is one of my best breakfast recipes. Homemade waffles are just so good!

Fresh, hot waffles at home are just amazing… for breakfast, for dessert or just because you fancy a hot waffle… with melted chocolate and ice-cream….Waffle dessert is just my total favourite!

Waffle Maker From VonShef

Homemade waffles on the VonShef waffle maker are super easy to make and super tasty to eat!

I’ve used the VonShef Dual Round Waffle Maker for this recipe. I just can’t believe what a total bargain this waffle maker is!

It’s quite a compact waffle maker so it’s easy to fit into the cupboard when you’re not cooking waffles that is.

The machine makes two round waffles at the same time, so it’s great for cooking up the kids breakfasts.

Once you’ve mixed up the waffle batter, they literally take around 6-7 minutes to cook up into delicious, puffy, sweet waffles.

Easy Breakfast Waffle Ingredients

Looking for a great waffle recipe UK measurements – here it is! You’ll be tucking into homemade waffles in no time!

  • 150g self raising flour – sifted to avoid lumpy batter.
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp caster sugar – you can add a little more sugar if you like a sweeter waffle but I think these are sweet enough, especially if you’re adding on syrup.
  • 250ml milk – I use whole milk for my waffles
  • 1 egg – a medium sized egg is fine for this recipe
  • Butter for cooking – just a dab of butter for lightly greasing the waffle pan.
  • Handful of berries and some maple syrup for topping

Our breakfast waffle recipe is so easy and quick to make, you’ll be cooking up American waffles everyday!

Step One – For making homemade waffles

  • Mix the dry ingredients – put the flour, baking powder and caster sugar into a mixing bowl and stir gently to combine.

Step TwoMake the best waffle mix

  • Mix into a waffle batter – make a well in the middle of the dry ingredients and crack in the egg – add a little of the milk and using a wooden spoon – stirring in small circles – gradually mix together the batter – adding more milk whenever it becomes stiff. Eventually you’ll have a smooth rich batter – pour this into a jug it just makes it so much easier for pouring into the waffle maker.

Step Three – Cook those homemade waffles

  • Heat up the waffle maker – I gently brush the waffle plates with a little melted butter and then pour in the batter – I cook these for around 6-7 minutes and don’t even peep at them before 4 minutes is up.

Step Four – remove the easy breakfast waffles

  • Flip the waffles out – once cooked flip them from the waffle maker using a plastic spatular so you don’t scratch the waffle plates.

Step Five – serve your easy breakfast waffles

  • Top the waffles – load the strawberries, raspberries and blueberries onto the hot waffle and drizzle with maple syrup.
